Healing and Forgiveness

Just going to drop a word of advice along with Ahnold (who knows whereof he speaks): There’s no shame in being wrong. There’s no shame in having been wrong. But knowing you’re wrong and persisting in what you’re doing in spite of that? That’s shameful. That’s how evil happens in your life. Right now a lot of people want to tell you that you should be angry about Trump. They’re almost right. You should be angry at Trump. Or possibly at someone else who misled you about Trump. We have all seen people we love and trust go this route. It’s entirely understandable if you were swept up in that.

Here’s the hard part. You don’t get to say let bygones be bygones. I believe in forgiveness. I absolutely do. But as someone pointed out to me yesterday, it’s a two way street. I can forgive you regardless. I can confess that I did, in point of fact, think we might wind up fighting. Because that shit that went down in DC last week? It could have gone very differently. USCP was outnumbered almost 3:1. Milita groups were there to kidnap and/or kill the VP, Speaker of the House, and Speaker Pro Tem of the Senate. They were there because Trump invited them to be, encouraged them to be, and specifically directed them to be. I’ll give you your hug and I’ll do my best to forget the shit that I’ve seen come out of you over the last 5 years, but before I can do that, you need to be calling for Trump to be removed. He is unfit to hold the office. Until you can recognize that, I can forgive you all I want…but you can’t be forgiven.

Let’s talk about what forgiveness means. Let’s take a good, deep dive into the subject and examine what you really want and what you’re going to have to do in order to get it. I think there’s value in that, and I’m still looking for a job, so I’ve got time. I’m going to start this series by examining the concept of forgiveness, what it entails and how it is viewed in the oldest surviving religious traditions. But first, please, watch this video if you haven’t already. I know a lot of people have issues with Arnie, but the fact is, he knows what he’s talking about and he’s speaking from the heart.
